Description of the job
Waltonen Engineering is looking for talented Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) Engineers to join our team! In this role, you will be responsible for RAM planning, overseeing the execution of the RAM test and evaluation strategy, maintaining RAM test data, and evaluating results for the Program Manager Office (PMO).
Responsibilities
- Perform RAM planning and oversee the execution of the RAM test and evaluation strategy.
- Maintain RAM test data and participate in the evaluation of results.
- Manage RAM testing performed by the OEM contractor, sub-contractors, and the US Government in conjunction with authorized COR(s).
- Integrate and execute test engineering tasks across developmental and operational test and evaluation of assigned systems.
- Provide input as a subject matter expert into contract Scope of Work (SOW) for RAM-related activities, user requirements documents, and system specification requirements.
- Develop required RAM documentation such as the RAM Growth Strategy and provide input to PM-generated T&E documents such as Test and Evaluation Master Plans (TEMP), System Evaluation Plan (SEP), Operational Mode Summary Mission Profile (OMS/MP), Failure Definition Scoring Criteria (FDSC), and other related T&E documentation.
- Lead RAM Working Groups and RAM Scoring Conferences.
- Serve as the RAM coordinator between PMO/PEO, OSD, DOT&E, OUSD R&E/DTE&A, ASA(ALT), HQDA, DUSA TEO, ATEC, AEC, OTC, the United States Army Combat Readiness Center, TRADOC, Army Futures Command (AFC), and relevant TRADOC centers, as well as the OEM and industry engaged in RAM activities.
- Participate in T&E related meetings and work groups including Test Concept Briefs, T&E WIPTs, T&E IPTs, Data Authentication Groups (DAGs), etc.
- Plan, organize, prepare briefing materials, and disseminate meeting minutes for RAM-related meetings.
- Provide RAM analysis reports and documentation for RAM IPT meetings, RAM planning groups, Scoring/Assessment conferences, Test Incident Reviews, and corrective action conferences.
- Monitor daily execution of RAM testing at various test sites.
- Coordinate with ATEC test directors and test officers on the execution of RAM testing throughout the program.
- Coordinate with other T&E stakeholders within the PMO, OEM contractor, and test community to ensure RAM testing is completed within the PMO budget and schedule.
- Ensure test data is available to support major program decisions and reviews.
- Report on vehicle testing and provide daily written reports.
- Attend and report on test-related meetings and administrative activities such as scheduling and site preparation at the test site location.
- Participate in meetings and program reviews with the OEM contractor and review RAM-related and other pertinent OEM contractor deliverables, providing comments and recommendations from a RAM engineering perspective.
- Track progress of all test site incident reports through utilization of tools such as the Vision Digital Library System (VDLS) and the Total Enterprise Asset Management System (TEAMS), and report issues that could delay major program reviews and decision points.
- Review all RAM test incidents and assess the impact of proposed corrective actions on vehicles and their test programs.
- Compile and maintain a database of all TIR released on the program using MS Excel or appropriate software tool and disseminate to the relevant working level members of the PMO.
- Communicate test results between stakeholders including program offices, contractors, and Government agencies at various test sites.
- Review data for accuracy, coordinate RAM reports, and review system RAM evaluations for completeness and accuracy.
- Research, summarize results, and/or make appropriate recommendations involving significant or controversial issues related to major acquisition RAM evaluation programs.
- Prepare and present technical briefings at all levels of management, including the Program Manager, General Officers, and Senior Executive Service civilians on a variety of test projects or test issues.
Qualifications
- Must be a U.S. citizen and possess or have the ability to obtain a security clearance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
- Proven experience in RAM planning, overseeing the execution of RAM test and evaluation strategies, and maintaining RAM test data.
- Strong technical background with the ability to integrate and execute test engineering tasks across developmental and operational test phases, and provide expert input into contract Scope of Work (SOW) for RAM-related activities.
- Demonstrated ability to lead RAM Working Groups and Scoring Conferences, coordinate with multiple stakeholders including government agencies and contractors, and manage RAM testing within budget and schedule constraints.
- Excellent analytical skills to review and assess RAM test incidents, compile and maintain databases, and prepare detailed technical briefings and reports.
- Strong communication skills to effectively convey test results and recommendations to various stakeholders.
- Relevant certifications such as Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) or Project Management Professional (PMP).
